Girls varsity basketball game review

In their losing effort against the Troy Colts on Jan. 6, girls varsity basketball record drops to 4-2 after this non-league game.

“Even though that game didn’t technically count,” senior varsity captain Melissa Jakupovic said. “I feel like we really tried our best.”

Non-league games do not contribute to the Eagles’ overall records at the end of the season. Troy played with a victory of 39-23.

“It wasn’t our best game offensively,” senior guard Alexa Panourgias said. “But I scored 10 points, so it was definitely memorable for me.”

The Eagles look to rebound Friday at Chippewa Valley in their first league game, where they hope to gain their first conference victory.

“We had one bad quarter that hurt us,”Coach Michael Satawa said. “But we didn’t quit after being down by 17 at half and played an intense and competitive 2nd half.”
