The JV team screams while doing their routine st a competition last year. “Competition was so fun last year, and i am so glad i made the team again this year so i can do it more,” JvV cheerleader junior Olivia Vizzacarro said. The girls have practiced just as well as last year and hope to do well in next weeks competition.

The competitive JV cheerleading squad await and prep for their first competition next Wednesday, the 17, at 6 p.m.

“I can’t wait for the competition, we have all been working hard, and it will be a lot of fun,” JV cheerleader junior Olivia Vizzaccaro said.

The squad will perform at Stoney Creek. The girls have been practicing five days a week for three hours each day in preparation for the upcoming competition and will put on an excellent performance, according to Vizzaccaro.

“I love competing because you get to see how your hard work and practice paid off,” JV cheerleader junior Jessica Mijal said.

The team competes all throughout the winter and verses other schools. The first competition is always very fun, but nerve racking because the team has been working so hard for this moment, according to Mijal.

“I am confident in our team because we have done well in the past and I am not too nervous. I’m so excited for the competition,” Vizzaccaro said.

Last year the girls came together as a team and used their strengths to do well in competitions. This year, the squads hope to fly higher and tumble harder in hope that they will do even better than last year, according to JV cheerleader Natalie Cucinella.

“I really love to cheer,”Cucinella said, “and I hope we do well in the competition next week.”
