The swim score board located at the pool will soon be replaced. “The swim team, for the most part, funds itself, so it really means a lot for people to come out and help us get the equipment we need,” sophomore Megan Gallanty said. The board has been there since the school was first built.

Both the girls’ and boys’ swim teams will be teaming up to hold four poker nights to raise enough money for a new electronic scoreboard.

The pool’s scoreboard is old and part of it doesn’t work, which interferes during meets, according to sophomore Megan Gallantly. School funds that were supposed to go to buying a new board kept going elsewhere.  The swim teams are now taking it into their own hands and need to raise at least $5,000 in order to purchase a standard new board.

“The swim team, for the most part, funds itself, so it really means a lot for people to come out and help us get the equipment we need,” sophomore Megan Gallanty said.

The poker nights will start on Monday, Apr. 21 and will go to Thursday, Apr. 24 at the Rivers on 22 and VanDyke. Monday and Tuesday will start at 12:30PM and end at 2:00AM. Wednesday and Thursday will start at 2:30PM and end at 2:00AM.

“I encourage all the parents to come out, even if it’s just for a small amount of time, because, to me, everything helps,” sophomore Haley Bradley said.
