3-2-1 Launch! - Science Olympiad competitors, junior Luigi Guadagnino and sophomore Mason Kirsch win their trajectory event at states. They were chosen to compete in the trajectory event as a duo after they qualified for states. “I’m very proud of them, they are super hard workers,” team leader Sophia Witulski said.

Standing on stage, junior Gabrielle Carnes recites lyrics from a song, “From up Here,” by Jon Jorgenson. “I’m excited, I’m not sure if I want my poem [this year] to either be funny or hard-hitting to the point it makes others really think about it.” Carnes participated in poetry day last year and plans on doing it again this year.

Golden girls. Competing in the conference, seniors Chloe Cocco, Sabina Basil and Maria Valles Zubia won a gold award. Focused on children, their topic was ‘Kindness is a Superpower’ that emphasized the value of respecting others. “My favorite part of the conference was bonding with everyone that was there, like making new friends,” Cocco said. “We won a gold award and then a 90 out of 100. We felt pretty good because we were very nervous since it was our first time ever competing there.”

Yearbook year in review

Go gold. Throughout the years, the yearbook has had a variety of themes. “Whats different about the book [this year] is that we have a lot of new ideas coming in and theres a new flow this year,” junior Yearbook editor Claire Bemis said. “Since COVID-19, things have changed, but now, were getting back into our flow and getting in the groove.” In honor of Eisenhower’s 50th year anniversary, this year’s yearbook theme is moments of gold.

Don’t disregard the deadlines

On November 3rd, Senior Isabella Demaj rode a mechanical bull that the student council brought in for all lunch hours. Demaj lasted 15 seconds before being swung off onto the inflatable barrier. “It was a lot of fun,” Demaj said. “I was super nervous before doing it but once I finished I wanted to go on again.”
