The book fair is coming up once again at the media center. The event was created and is organized by Mrs. Hubbard, head of the English Department.

“We grew up having book fairs in Elementary School and we all loved them,” Hubbard said. “I thought ‘Why not do that at the high school level?’”

According to Hubbard, the event was created 7 or 8 years ago. At the time, Hubbard was able to organize it by herself, but now she is helped by other teachers in the English department.

This year, it will take place on the week of December 6th.Also, this year’s edition won’t be the same as last year’s. Purchases will only be made by cash or check this year, unlike previous years, when credit and debit cards were accepted as well.

But what happens with the money raised from the event?

“Many of the proceeds that we earn from the Book Fair go to the Special Education Department. They buy class sets of books for their kids, or we buy additional books for the library to add to what’s popular on reading lists,” Hubbard said.

The Book Fair is open for anyone during the day and has a vast selection of books to choose from.
